Tips from the Trito Team for picking the perfect roof: part 2

In our last blog, we took a look at a few budget-friendly roofing options that you might like to consider for your Wellington roof. While cheaper options save dollars in the early days of your project, investing more money upfront in your roof could save you some expensive repairs in the long run. Today, we’re going to look at three more pricey options you could choose when selecting materials for your Wellington building: Slate, Concrete/Clay, and Green Roofing.

Slate is worth its weight

Well-regarded for its durability and sturdy weight, slate can be formed with stone or synthetically with rubber. While slate sits on the pricier end of the roofing material spectrum, it will last a lot longer than your average cheaper option, and requires less repairs. In most cases you should be able to score yourself a lifetime warranty on your slate roofing products, so be sure to ask your Wellington roofing expert for that!

It’s all in a day for concrete and clay

Concrete or clay tiles are another pricey, yet durable roofing material. You won’t need to worry about matters such as rust, warping or corrosion with your clay or concrete tiles. These hearty tiles can handle severe winds and rain like pros; packing extra weight that holds them tightly together and firmly down. You’ll have less maintenance to worry about and more bang for your buck with this roofing option, but be sure that your building is prepped and primed to support the extra weight!

As an added bonus, a tiled roof looks absolutely stunning on any property, and is a designer favorite.

Are you learning an extra thing or two from our roofing material series? Have you found a personal favorite yet out of any of the options we’ve discussed? Would you opt for the cheaper materials or are these high-end materials persuading you to ‘go big or go home’? Stay tuned for our final installment later this month where we talk about our special Trito roofing options that come waterproofed and ready for action with our special Tritoflex membrane!
